I got a nice surprise when I went to do my 240's fuel filter today.

Who knew that JB Weld could be used for electrical connections?

Obviously it can, it just wouldn't have occurred to me. :-P

There was a ziptie holding the wiring to the side of the fuel pump tray, too, so this part of the car definitely has reached Peak TB™.

May want to get some non-rusty banjo & bolt pieces, because those are known to leak in the rust belt.

don't even get me started with rust in the tank.

That's why it's good to look under a 240 before purchasing one. There is simply no way of telling what horrors you'll find later if you don't look first.

Good Luck with that!

Took this to heart and snagged some fresh banjo pieces ("ring nipples," as they were listed on eBay). I'll end up with a couple extras if anyone needs the big one that attaches to the fuel filter outlet.

For future reference, the main fuel line is 6mm ID/8mm OD, and the banjo that gets pressed into it has a 12mm hole and a 6mm nipple.

You don't even wanna know what L8APEKS's fuel sender unit looked like. :-(

It's like if a Painboy in Warhammer 40k tried to "modify" the Ork that is my car

I haven't pulled out my fuel sender yet, but it's just as crusty as the fuel filter, if not worse. It's no wonder my car smells like gas all the time.
