K-jet throttle micro switch adjustment/wiring

I have a 1976 242 with the original k-jet system. It has a “micro switch” mounted on the intake that is activated by a set screw attached to the throttle. This switch has two electrical tabs on top but only one wire connected to one of the tabs. I can’t tell where this wire is coming from or what it is doing for this switch. Am I supposed to have two wires connected to each tab on the switch? What purpose does this switch serve? I recently installed a new engine harness from Dave Barton and there was no wiring for this or any mention of this switch.
** I replaced the wire end connector and added that red shrink wrap when I first got the car. The wiring that was there when I got it was almost totally degraded and I’m not sure if it was ever working. It runs into the firewall near the brake booster and I haven’t traced it farther than that.

I have no idea what that would be on a '76, and with only 1 wire connected, it's not doing anything. The CIS Constant Idle Speed box that was added in ~'82 uses a microswitch on the throttle butterfly to sense foot-off-the-gas time-to-idle. Maybe you have a newer throttle body, or maybe there's some accessory that uses that switch?

That's for the nitrous oxide of course! Jk, I don' know what it is for. But on a switch like that, usually one connection is for normally open, the other for normally closed. So you cannot hook them both up at the same time. It might even say NO or NC near the connection.

I may be wrong but I believe it works with the Idle Up Solenoid to maintain the idle speed whenever the massive York AC Compressor's Clutch is on. My '76 had it.

This makes sense. I got rid of the solenoid and will be getting rid of the massive ac compressor asap. Thanks for the info

The idle up solenoid is connected directly to the compressor clutch wire. It doesn't use the throttle switch.
