Aggressive Turbo Cam

For example some of the guys here with powerful turbo engines use the enem V16T cam. Gsellstrm, and thelostartof come to mind. Remember the more aggressive you go while keeping displacement the same. You are moving the powerband up.
If you take a look at the chart on the enem web site. I Hope it's still there. They show you the rpm band the cams are optimized for. For example the V15 both turbo and n/a are 2k to 6k rpm cams. A V16 turbo or n/a is a 2.5k to 6.5k rpms cam. The chart is very helpful. I wish that part was on the turbobricks cam spec chart. Plus that isn't to say that the V16 doesn't rev higher than that with power. It's the designer of the cam giving you the optimal range so you can figure out your needs. Like the notes that say stage one, two, three, etc.

You're going to do a lot of work hogging out a head when bolting a bigger hotside on, a header, and a cam will more than make you happy. My stock 530 casting breathes happily enough to bounce off the rev limiter at 7k+ and make well north of 300whp. ymmv

Alright thanks, I'll keep that in mind while hunting for a cam

Let’s say your HP goal is 300hp(the K cam, IPD Turbo cam or V15 Turbo are fine, BTW). A small cam(like the three mentioned) that makes your wanted peak 300HP at 5500rpm will make more torque than a large cam that makes the same 300HP but at 6500rpm. It’s not just more efficient, it’s noticeably faster!

Ps, no need for a 531 unless you’re going for well over 300hp. Even then, a nice 530 might be better if it’s a street car. The 531 has larger intake ports which hurt velocity(response, efficiency and torque) unless you have a camshaft with over 12mm or lift and need to rev it up high. Basically.
