no more RWD Pegs?

Only thing about 15" wheels is no good widths to be had. One is stuck with 205-60-15 tires.

No 215- 55 -15 and no 225/55-15 in long wearing/regular all season tires that I can find. Everything i in decent width is either summer tires or race tires

Why I'm looking to go to 16" Voxx wheels. (don't care for added expense or messing with spacers)

Lol my 780 is already bagged in the rear, but not for more lower, for cheap nivomat replacement until I get coilovers. No compressor or control unit either, I just pump it up to 140 PSI when I check my tires.

The monroe air max are pretty stiff...

For the first 6 months.

I'm not sure what kind of mentoring I could offer for a tube of hemorrhoid cream.

TECHNICALLY, those are about an inch smaller in diameter than stock size.

Yes. I don't want to lose nor gain overall tire height.

Just want to gain tread width. That is why I want to go with 16" wheels.

I want to keep total tire height as close as possible to a 205/60/15's so as to keep speedo accurate as possible. Yet gain a wider tire.

This way car's ride height remains the same, as does the speedo reading And car will handle a little better.

Feels like current susp mods could use a little more rubber contact area with the road surface. I'm thinking 215 or 225 in a 55 or 50 series 16" tire, respectively.

. IIRC that's what we came up with a Discount Tire Store when investigating it.

FWIW, when I ran 225/50-16 on my 965 it handled worse than the same tire on the same Perfo wheels than the 205/55-16, which I suspect the spill-over on the 225 added to a squishy feel and the increased width was un-noticable for handling.

cause no one buys them-- everyone buys hydras for 40 bucks a piece
I paid $20 each from P&P for my Hydras
No great loss they were heavy, and 17's ride like crap.
And to add to that, the Hydra's on my 245 handled like crap compared to the Orion 15x7's with the exact same Bridgestome Potenza's on them in a 205/xx-1x, and they ride harsh, and they as a combination are heavier than the Orion's
That extra 1/2 inch of wheel makes a big difference in handling, and IMHO if you go wider than a 205 you need 7" wheels or bigger, and arguably the 205's like to be on 7" wheels.

I'm looking to go with 16x7" wide Voxx MG3 wheels. Should be wide enough rim to run 215/50/15 or 225/50/15 or maybe 215/5516 or 225/55/16 tires on. IIRC they are also available in 8" width

Seems to me any increase in the tread width/contact patch should increase cornering ability

Not if it's not flat. If the patch needs lower pressure to lay flat then the tire will have spill/roll on cornering and the 'patch' is only the sidewall area. If it's over inflated then the patch is smaller.

So......... if I went with a 16" x 7" Voxx MG3 wheel with 215 or 225 tire in 50 or 55 series, you mean it'll handle worse? I don't understand that.

My experience has alwaysbeen more contact patch, more rubber on the road, equals better handling in curves, as long as the sidewall of tire is shorter/same height.

As of now, the 205/60/15s can not supply enough lateral traction for what the suspension will do.
