As most of you know,Wolly the blue 240 wagon is toast , courtesy of 6500 lbs. of SUV. Since its project thread was post-mortem/celebration of car-death, it seems appropriate to actually have a thread for the new car. It will be and is currently receiving many donor parts from the squished '88.

First off - many, many thanks to SteveMD for passing this wagon along to my concussed self. It means a lot to me.

The goal of this car is to be moar better.

Better from the start: It's a '93 - everything that goes along with being a '93 gives this car a good head start.

Current goodies that make this a better car than Wolly: 25mm front IPD swaybar (23mm before, now bent), Bilstein HDs (Koni adjustable, one now bent), M47, no rack, minimal dings/rust.

Future plans include: E-codes, Wolly's springs - 350 lb/in fronts, 250? lb/in rears, Wolly's True-Trac diff., A or B cam (short term), + Tuuurrrrbo (long term), lightened flywheel, Old blue/black interior, Hello Kitty decorum. Location of said Hello Kitty stylin' is TBD and up for debate or suggestion.

Thanks and stuff: Paul Schuh, you're awesome. Steve, you're awesome too. Towery, thank you for your omniscience. Thank you most to Dad, for letting me use your tools, and for cobbling expertise. Thank you especially for getting me a 240 wagon nearly 10 years ago and then for making it awesome, and then making me race it.

Progress and stuff

Adding good things to a wagon makes it a happy wagon.

25mm front swaybar. The rear 22mm was scavenged from Wolly.

Old exhaust, a MikeP special. Harvested from the wreckage and re-applied to the new beast.
The muffler is just a flowmaster, I think, but it sounds awfully nice

Fresh rear rotors are purty

Machining is even purtier

lookin good. fortunately for me last tuesday when the guy pulled out in front of me i had alot of time to kill some speed before impact. they may still total mine however. good that no one was hurt in the wreck and even better you scored a decent wagon out of it.

what a gorgeous colour. The wheels are nice too. A black/not tan interior in nice shape will do that car wonders. looks like a worthy starting point for wolly part II

Huzzah!

Thanks, it's factory paint. Haven't gotten around to finding out what the paint code is. The wheels came from the old car - they're 15x7s that had a major booger in the center of one. Dad (MikeP) welded, cleaned, then painted them when I was too young/teenaged/generally disinterested in everything to care or help. It will be getting a mostly blue interior with black door panels, unless I can find more black interior goodies...

Very cool! That looks like the same color as mine. :) Also a 5spd with lame tan interior. Mine also lacks the roof rack but has cloth seats. Wish you well with the car. It looks great!

It's being inspected this week, hopefully. Pa replaced a busted tie-rod today. Hopefully small things like a cracked driveshaft donut and lack-o pass. side parking brake shoe won't fail.

Assuming my new job doesn't require any weekend time of me, I'd say we could probably make it up there for some meatballs.

Sounds like a crazy ray's trip to me
