Looking at a 91 740 Turbo tonight with 63K miles. What should I look for?

Been out of the redblocks for a while since I sold the 240's. Would like to get back in and this looks like a good starting point. What should I be aware of and look for other than the typical oil...

Oh, and gf states that there is a gas smell in the car after she fuels up. Sounding more like a cracked evap hose? I hate diagnosing from 450 miles away but I will have a very small repair window...

I have swapped the fuel cap and it didnt help. I can reset the code but it comes back promptly. TO be sure it wasnt the cap, should I disconnect the battery to reset the ecu? Just curious as to...
